Each year this list is put out and within it lies the names of community leaders, job creators, and our friends and neighbors. This year, however, is different, as we have one of our very own making the list: Edward J. Flynn, or EJ as you may know him.
EJ Flynn is the owner and founder of Flynn Energy and Propane, and has been since he created the company in 2010. Created as a family, small-town, alternative to the larger and more impersonal companies in the area, Flynn Energy and Propane prides itself on working with its customers and doing everything they can to make their lives better; and this all starts with EJ.
“When the Marcellus Shale boom started, I wanted to find niche in the market to provide a level of service that others just weren’t offering, I wanted to give people a business that was better than the others out there.” Said EJ. “I try to run the company like I do my own life; honesty, treating them like family, and offering the best service we possibly can is the best way you can run a business.”
It’s this motivation and drive that keeps pushing EJ to make the company better and better with each passing day, and is what pushes him to grow Flynn Energy & Propane into one of the leading energy operations in the region.
“I want to continue to grow the company, we service PA, West Virginia, Ohio, and New York, and I want to keep growing those markets, but I also want to expand into new ones as well, while keeping up with our goal of excellent service no matter the distance.”
EJ Flynn has grown a small oil and gas business into a local household name. He has done it with good planning, vision, and most importantly, with good people. It’s the charisma and life that EJ brings to Flynn Energy, as well as his caring for his customers, that makes his such an excellent business and himself one of the 100 top people of the last year. And even though EJ was recognized, he still knows what makes the business work: the people you work with.
